The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement to welcome the first report from the Canada-United States Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders:

“I am pleased to welcome today the Canada-United States Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders’ first report, which is focused on supporting and growing women-owned businesses. This report is the first of five anticipated reports to be released by the Council.

“I thank the Council for its important work and recommendations on how we can remove the barriers faced by women entrepreneurs and business leaders, and address the unique challenges they face.

“Canada will continue its work – at home and abroad – to promote women’s full participation in the business community and to ensure they have equal opportunities to thrive in the workforce. We know that everyone must have the same fair shot at success to advance our competitiveness in the global economy, and to build a better world for all of us.”
