IWEC Foundation welcomes Mar Santana Rollán,  Head of Foreign Trade & Treasury, CaixaBank, to its Conference Steering Committee.  Mar will be joining 14 other Steering Committee members who plan the annual conference every year.  The representatives on the committee are from international chambers and many are IWEC Past Awardees.  We look forward to Mar’s engagement and wise counsel!

Mar Santana Rollán Bio

Senior banking executive with 25 year experience and proven track record in charge of business units and teams in the main banking industry areas, moving from Retail Banking, Risk Analysis, to SME, Business, Corporates and currently as Head of Foreign Trade & Treasury.

This extensive experience has enabled her to acquire a comprehensive and integrated vision of the banking industry, leading high performance teams and successfully increasing efficiency and productivity.

A well networked and successful manager who builds internal and external relationships through exceptional problem resolution, ownership and follow-through. Ability to keep a level head at all times, evaluate opportunities and risks, and also deliver innovative new solutions to enhance new and existing business opportunities.

Participation in CSR activities to improve awareness of CaixaBank´s responsible banking and social commitment.

Holding a BA in Law from the UC, an Executive MBA from ESADE Business School, and a Management Degree (PDD) from IESE Business School. She was awarded with a LiderA grant, and shortlisted by CaixaBank to be the first participant in PROMOCIONA Programa de Alta Dirección (PAD) for Women; she has also attended advanced management programs at Texas University and Henley Management School.

Member of the Board of we.trade, the leading company that develops and licenses the first blockchain trade platform for commercial clients and their banks available in the market.

She is also experienced in Corporate Governance as member of CaixaBank´s Shareholder Advisory Committee. As well she is founder of a non-profit Spanish Association for Top Management, Executives and Board Directors (EJE&CON), member of its Corporate Governance Committee, and co-author or the Code of Corporate Best Practices for Equal Opportunity which top Spanish IBEX companies have adopted. Speaker in eWoman 2018 and member of the jury for 2019´s edition.
