Eriksen Translations Inc. Celebrates 30th Anniversary with a Focus on the Future

After three decades of building a solid reputation for delivering high-quality language solutions, Eriksen celebrates its strong history with an eye towards the future.
In 1986, armed with a typewriter and a passion for language, Vigdis Eriksen founded Eriksen Translations Inc., working out of an artist’s loft in Brooklyn with a handful of dedicated linguists. Eriksen now boasts an extensive network of linguists working in over 100 languages to offer a full range of language services across print, web, and multimedia to clients worldwide.

After 30 years, Eriksen is proud to still consider Brooklyn home. Deputy Borough President Diana Reyna will attend the company’s December 9th anniversary celebration and present Eriksen with a citation of achievement recognizing the Brooklyn-based business. This citation is especially meaningful to Vigdis and her staff, who have spent so many years providing translation and interpreting services to support the education, health care, and social service needs of the local community’s multilingual residents.
The language services industry is rapidly evolving. Always keeping an eye on tomorrow, Eriksen continuously embraces advances in industry technology to respond to clients’ increasing demand for faster turnaround and competitive pricing. This year, Eriksen completed a major technology overhaul, with the rollout of a new translation management system, the launch of online client and vendor portals, and migration to the collaborative memoQ cloud server platform.
