How will you celebrate International Women’s Day?

Join our efforts to be role models for young children

On International Women’s Day, cities and countries all over the world celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th as a part of Women’s History Month.

Right now is a great and important time in history to do everything possible to help forge a more gender-balanced world. Women have come a long way, yet there’s still more to be achieved.

The International Women’s Day 2019 campaign theme of #BalanceforBetter is a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world. How will you help make a difference?

IWEC Foundation Plan

On Friday March 8th, every successful woman business owner around the world is encouraged to visit a local grade school(s) (ages 6, 7, 8) or visit Girl Scout or Boy Scout troops,  Young Men & Women’s Associations and other schools and community organizations focused on children and address the group/class(es).

By standing in front of these boys and girls and by stating “I make this” or “I lead that” or “I achieved this” and telling your stories, young people will see successful women who are in a whole range of industries and who have achieved success.  By demonstrating to the class that women can do anything, and are not limited to traditional roles and jobs, we will set the stage for our future generations to just naturally accept that women can do anything!

And, as further exposure and education for these young people, if the women who run or lead businesses have the capability, they can also take a group(s) of children to their workplace.  This will show the breadth of their power, the vast array of products they manufacture or services they offer, the amount of employees and operations they lead, and the many innovations and inventions that they have introduced into the market.

Our proposal is simple, but powerful.

The IWEC Foundation’s robust network allows us to communicate and share pictures, stories and connections made that day to give additional visibility to our IWEC women. Our ecosystem includes international chambers, women’s business organization affiliates and other groups who can also share our stories.

So let’s all get out there and act as role models for the next generations!  And be sure share your stories and pictures with us by sending an email to info@iwecfoundation.org.

Happy International Women’s Day!!!!!
