Chosen by our partner, the Lima Chamber of Commerce, we are pleased to announce the following successful women business owners from both Peru & Bangladesh.  They will be attending our 2022 15th Annual Conference in Madrid Spain Nov. 13-15th to accept their award.

Britt Ludvigsen Sakata, Founder & CEO, Texprego BD

For almost twenty years, Britt has worked to be a catalyst for change in the Bangladeshi garments industry. Her close relationship with manufacturers has been an engine for knowledge transfer between Bangladesh and Peru, contributing to the development of the country’s garments industry. In 2009 she founded Texprego, manufacturing and distributing products to four global brands employing more than 12,000 people through its supply chain, 66% of them are women. Britt received a Bachelor of Fine Art from Rotterdamse Modeakademie Marja Van Riel, the Netherlands; she studied Industrial Engineering at Universidad de Lima, Peru and graduated from Harvard Business School.

Britt primarily exports to Spain, Brazil, the USA and their customers’ subsidiaries in Japan, Hong Kong, Mexico and Argentina.  They would like to enter Africa, China, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Sweden.

 

Rocio Lockett, CEO, Metax Industria & Comercio SAC, www.metaxsac.com

Rocio studied in London and received her masters in architecture.  After several years working in the architectural field, she decided to join her family business and learned the business from the ground up.  She has managed the 40-year old business which manufacturers Biomedical Equipment, Hospital and Institutional Furniture. They offer personalized products, with modern and safe design, based on the needs of their users. This allows them to guarantee well-being and comfort for all users. Metax Industria are experts in equipping health establishments under the turnkey modality. They are now upgrading to new automated and robotic machinery, ioT and digital transformation which will make them a “smart factory.”

The company does business in Peru and they want to expand to other neighboring South American countries such as Ecuador and Bolivia where the need for their products is great.
