First Lady Erdoğan attended the closing session of a meeting titled “Address of Mobile Solutions: Woman,” which was jointly organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey-Women Entrepreneurs Council; Teknopark Istanbul; and the Women and Democracy Association under the leadership of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.

Delivering an address at the closing session of the meeting, First Lady Emine Erdoğan said: “The most visible indicator of women’s integration into the economic life is woman employment. Stating that supporting woman employment alone is not enough and woman entrepreneurship should be encouraged as well; the First Lady drew attention to possible qualities women’s sensitivity might bring to the business world.

“WE SHOULD ENSURE SOCIAL GENDER EQUALITY”

Underlining the need for a common awareness about women’s participation in economic life, the First Lady stressed that policies that would reconcile women’s work and private lives should be implemented. Emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship training in terms of the commercialisation of ideas, First Lady Erdoğan cited examples from our past regarding women’s contributions to the production, and she added: “We should ensure social gender equality.”

“A human is not only a combination of what he has done, but also what he hasn’t done,” the First Lay said, stating that it is necessary to struggle as from the childhood in order to preserve entrepreneurial spirit. Emphasizing the importance of an educational system that properly canalizes children’s sense of wonder and consolidates their entrepreneurial spirit, First Lady Erdoğan described the project “Address of Mobile Solutions: Woman” as a nice example of entrepreneurship.
