Women have certainly made a lot of advances in the workplace, especially in recent years, but there is more to be done to ensure workplace equality among all genders. Items like pay equity, pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment and more still need to be recognized and addressed at a systematic level.

Despite these obstacles left to overcome for women in the workplace, there are things that business leaders can do every day to ensure women are being supported. From investing in women entrepreneurs to checking your own beliefs about women in the workforce, 13 Forbes Business Council members shared their best advice below.

1. Prioritize Women And Provide Them With Opportunities

When we think about leveling the playing field, we have to first understand how unbalanced it has been in the past. It’s not enough to keep diversity in the back of your mind when hiring or promoting, it needs to be an active exercise at the forefront of your company’s culture.
